gardening, he would feed the nearby squirrels and birds. In fact, the squirrels got so used to being fed that they would wait in the yard for him to wake up and feed them their daily supply of peanuts. Traveling, dining with friends and gardening were the things he enjoyed the most.

Dave was a Giants fan (thanks to his sister) and loved watching the games on TV. He attended all Opening Day, Playoffs and World Series games at AT&T Park.

Dave was a very kind and generous person. He was over the top being a friend to everyone and making everyone feel special. He loved everyone and especially enjoyed seeing all “his” children grow up and start their own families. Although not related by blood, he was a beloved member of many families and will be greatly missed by all “his” children of the heart. To many of “his” children, he was “Uncle Dave”.

He is survived by his sister Diane. His parents Paul and Daphne Luders are deceased. He will be greatly missed by his sister, family, and all his friends.

There will be no funeral memorial service. A private celebration of Dave’s life is being planned. In lieu of flowers, please make a contribution to the charity of your choice.

Forever in our hearts.

Dave died suddenly in the home he grew up in on Sunday, May 3, 2015 with his sister Diane at his side. He was a great brother and friend. Dave was born and lived all of his life in San Francisco. He went to West Portal Grammar School, Aptos Junior High School and Abraham Lincoln High School in San Francisco. He graduated from the University of California Berkeley with a Master’s Degree in Industrial Engineering. While going to college, he worked at Hale’s Department Store.

After graduation he served in the US Army Reserve and did his training at Fort Knox, Kentucky. He started work at Pacific Gas and Electric Company in 1960. He held several positions of responsibility and mentored many employees over his 33-year career at PG&E until retiring in 1993.

Dave loved to travel and visited almost every country in the world. Not only did he love to talk about his travel adventures, but he loved to hear about the travel adventures of others. He loved going to amusement parks: Great America, Marine World, Universal Studios, and especially Disneyland and Disneyworld. No roller coaster ride was too scary for him. He was a unique person who had no inhibitions about expressing his inner child!

Dave also loved gardening. During his time
