Larrie Richard Furst, a longtime San Francisco realtor, devoted father and dear friend to many, passed away unexpectedly in his sleep, at his home, on May 7th at the age of 77.

Born and raised in New Jersey, Larrie graduated from Tufts University and moved to New York City to begin a career in advertising. He left New York in 1967 to embark on a 40-day ocean adventure on a freighter to Australia. He settled in San Francisco, first working in product management at the Del Monte Corporation before commencing a forty-year career in real estate. He was one of the founders of TRI Realtors, which grew into a large residential and commercial firm and became part of the Coldwell Banker Company. He was active in commercial and investment leasing until his passing.

Larrie will be remembered for his intellect, wit and wry sense of humor. A devout reader and constant learner, he was known for his knowledge of history, world affairs and politics. He was an excellent cook, skilled sailor and enjoyed tennis, skiing, traveling and the arts, particularly jazz. His favorite times were those spent with his children, especially on camping and fishing trips when they were young.

Larrie was a loving father and is survived by his children, Jessica and Charles, and his former wife and friend, Terry. He is fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He will always hold a cherished place in our hearts and will be missed by all who knew him.

A private service was held by the family and a celebration of his life will be held in San Francisco at a future date to be announced. The family can be contacted on at P.O. 471046, San Francisco, CA, 94147.
