Audree entered into eternal life June 2 leaving behind a thriving extended family which cared for her during her final years of earthly life. She is survived by her four children Trudie Mathiesen & her husband George, Sherry Hook & her husband Al, Mary Ann Broussard & her husband Mike, and James Hawkins & his wife Deborah. She will be missed by her nine grandchildren Mike Mathiesen, Monica Mathiesen, Meredith Franklin, Kimberly Knott, Larry Cory, Johanna Cory, Victoria Osborne, Donna Michelle Hawkins and Jessica Hawkins. She was also the proud great grandmother of Miranda Mathiesen, Hannah Mathiesen, Sage Franklin, Sienna Franklin and London Cory. She was the wife of William Hawkins until his passing in 1977.

Born and raised in Lodi, California, Audree and her husband Bill settled in Stockton after WWII until Bill was transferred to San Francisco in 1965 at which time the family settled in Millbrae. After the children were raised, Audree went to work for the San Mateo Union High School District where she was employed until she was 70. She wasn’t ready to be retired yet, so she went to work for her son James, an agent and district manager for Farmers Insurance. She worked in San Francisco and on the peninsula until her final retirement at the age of 80.

In addition to a busy family and work life, Audree was a talented seamstress and an avid bridge player. She volunteered at the airport, hospital and was active in the Catholic Church. Always ready for an adventure, she traveled the world with a group from the school district and took numerous trips with her children and grandchildren.

A family service was held June 5 and Audree was interred at the San Joaquin Catholic Cemetery Mausoleum in Stockton.
