Margaret Louise (Malley) Coulter

Margaret Louise Coulter died peacefully on May 15, 2015 in Redding, California at the age of 92 years. Margaret was born on December 10, 1923 in Cleveland, Ohio to Louise and Bernard Malley.

After graduating from high school and secretaria­l school in Ohio, Margaret moved to California. She worked in Yosemite as a secretary for the Department of Interior and later moved to San Francisco where she met her future husband, Bill Coulter, who predecease­d her in 1982.

Margaret was a dedicated employee of the City and County of San Francisco for over 30 years. She was proud to work for the San Francisco Fire Department where she served as the executive secretary to Fire Chiefs Andrew Casper and Emmet Condon. After her retirement, Margaret moved to Napa and ultimately Redding where she lived for the past 22 years.

Margaret was one of nine siblings, and is survived by her brothers Al and Tom Malley. Her brothers James, John, Ray and Frank, and sisters Ruth and Kay, predecease­d her. Though Margaret and Bill did not have children of their own, she was the adored aunt to many loving nieces and nephews, as well as many grand and great-grandniece­s and nephews.

Margaret’s family wishes to express their deep gratitude to her kind and loving caregivers at Welcome Home Assisted Living in Redding, as well as family and friends who contribute­d to the quality of her final years.

A memorial service will take place on June 20, 2015 at 11 a.m. at Allen & Dahl Funeral Chapel, 2030 Howard Street, Anderson, CA. A reception will immediatel­y follow at the Gaia Hotel, 4125 Riverside Place, Anderson, CA. In remembranc­e of Margaret, donations may be made to the charity of your choice.
