William Tage Malmborg, 86, passed away on July 12, 2015. Born in San Francisco and married 59 years to his beloved wife Dolores, Will is fondly remembered as a devoted husband who cherished every moment with his family and friends. Known for his kindness, patience, and work ethic, Will routinely offered a helping hand and encouraging words forever impacting those he loved.

A proud native of San Francisco, Will was a graduate of Balboa High School class of 1947. He earned his undergraduate and master’s degrees at San Francisco State University, followed by honorable service in the United States Coast Guard. Will continued his service to others as an Educator and Administrator in the San Francisco Unified School District where he worked tirelessly for more than 20 years. Rooting on his hometown teams, the Giants and 49’ers was a favorite pastime.

Will especially treasured his grandchildren and spent countless hours sharing and teaching his life lessons to each. His curiosity about the world never wavered as evidenced by his volunteer work at the National Geological Society. Will also enjoyed traveling, golf, and was an active member of SIRs.

Will is survived by his wife Dolores (Santillan ) Malmborg; his children Keith Malmborg (and wife Elizabeth), Tyra O’Kelley (and husband Shannon), Kirsten Kennedy (and husband Clayton); his grandchildren Christopher Malmborg, Liam and Brenna O’Kelley and Kyle Kennedy. He is also survived by the children and families of his sisters, Agnes and Virginia, who predeceased him.

We welcome all family and friends to Will’s memorial at 1 p.m. on August 15, 2015 at the Community United Church of Christ (UCC) 1336 Arroyo Avenue, San Carlos, CA. Memorial donations may be made to the UCC or Catholic Charities, 787 Walnut Street, San Carlos, CA 94070.
