Boris Carlo Percich, of San Francisco, CA, passed away on Sunday, August 2, 2015, while lovingly comforted by his closest family. He was born in Mattuglie, Italy, on March 10, 1944.

He grew up in Domodossol­a, Italy where as a young man, he learned the trade of baking; he derived great joy as a Baker & Chef. He served in the Italian Military before emigrating to the U.S. at the age of 22. He took great pride in working with his hands and served as a skilled machinest and restaurant­eur for much of his life; including proprietor­ship in two North Beach Restaurant­s; Primavera and La Veranda.

Boris was a loving, and compassion­ate soul – with an infectious sense of humor. He loved North Beach and called it his home for nearly 50 years. He was known by many and revered by most as a “wonderful man”. He is predecease­d by his parents, Natalia and Carlo, survived by his children; daughter Heidi Rieser and son Omar Percich, and their spouses Michael and Kelly. His grandchild­ren; Christophe­r, Ashley, Benjamin, Ava, Kerrigan, and Kendal, his former spouse Mary Simona, brother and sister-in-law Paul & Cristina Simona, and his sister Sonia & brother Sergio.

The family wishes to express a special note of gratitude to the staff at On Lok, who always provided genuine & compassion­ate care. The family will hold a private ceremony to honor the memory of the deceased. Donations to On Lok Lifeways or Italian-American Community Services are requested in lieu of flowers.
