This week at Golden Gate Fields

- — Larry Stumes, Special to The Chronicle

Schedule: Thursday through Sunday Post time: 12:45 p.m. Feature race: $50,000-added Oakland Stakes on Saturday

Update: Trainer Jerry Hollendorfer begins the week with 6,994 career victories — third-most of all time behind the late Dale Baird (9,445) and Steve Asmussen (7,149). Hollendorfer has two horses entered at Golden Gate Fields and one at Del Mar on Thursday, two at Golden Gate and four at Del Mar on Friday and two at Golden Gate and four at Del Mar on Saturday. … Streamside, who has won 13 of 28 starts, will try to make amends in the Oakland Stakes — a race in which he finished third as the 6-to-5 favorite in 2014. Also entered for the 6-furlong race is the filly City by the Bay, who will try to match Code Warrior’s victory over males in Saturday’s Golden Nugget Stakes. City by the Bay has won five of 10 starts against her gender. Completing the field are Aalsmeer, Ankeny Hill, Glacken Too, Hold this miss, Our westcoast ghost and Star Student.

Elsewhere: Hollendorfer’s entrant in the first race Thursday at Del Mar is Seattle Serenade, a 3-year-old colt purchased for $1 million as a yearling. Seattle Serenade has recorded a series of fine workouts at Los Alamitos, twice going 6 furlongs in under 1:12 and twice in under 1:14. Mike Smith will ride Seattle Serenade, who is the 9-to-5 morning-line favorite in the 6½furlong maiden race. … Jockey David C. Lopez, who moved to Southern California after excelling for the past year at Golden Gate Fields, had his apprenticeship extended for 138 days. Lopez missed 4½ months because of a back injury from a spill June 6, and his apprenticeship now ends March 26. Lopez won with one of his three mounts last week at Del Mar.
