Lake levels near, far

Note: Most everybody has a favorite lake and destinatio­n; find yours on the list, and then follow the numbers over winter and spring as lake levels rise. To determine the percentage of full for each lake, I worked with water districts that provide each reservoir’s current storage level in acre-feet, then divided that number into the same lake’s maximum storage volume.

Marin: Bon Tempe (89 percent full), Lagunitas (89), Phoenix (82), Kent (79), Alpine (70), Soulajule (59), Nicasio (47).

Peninsula: San Andreas (95 percent), Crystal Springs (83).

East Bay hills: Briones (86), Del Valle (85), Lafayette (76), Chabot (63), Los Vaqueros (56 percent of new capacity), San Pablo (63).

Santa Clara County: Vasona (82), Calero (43), Almaden (41), Anderson (35), Coyote (35), Guadalupe (29), Uvas (26), Chesbro (20), Stevens Creek (18), Lexington (17).

Central Sierra, forest: Hetch Hetchy (76), Ice House (70), Jenkinson/Sly Park (68), Little Grass Valley (59), Relief (58), Union Valley (53), Jackson Meadows (50), Bowman (46), Donnells (43), Beardsley (42), Lower Bear (31), Cherry (29), French Meadows (29), Hell Hole (23), Eleanor (6).

Wine Country and north: Hennessey/Conn Dam (87), Berryessa (52), Sonoma (45), Mendocino (25), Pillsbury (19). Natural lake: Clear Lake (0.56 on Rumsey Gauge at Lakeport; 7.56 is full).

North state: Lewiston (96), Whiskeytow­n (86), Britton (84), Bucks (83), Butt Valley (83), Antelope (73), Iron Canyon (62), Almanor (53), Shasta (30), Trinity (20), Shastina (5). Natural lake: Eagle Lake (lake elevation 5,090.6 feet, lowest recorded since 1935).

South Sierra/San Joaquin: Millerton (33), San Luis (18), Pine Flat (12), Kaweah (9), Eastman (7), McClure (7), Isabella (5), Hensley (5), Success (4).

Central Coast: Whale Rock (35), Nacimiento (20), Salinas (12), San Antonio (3).

Lassen’s empty lakes: Honey Lake, Mountain Meadows, McCoy Flat, Hog Flat.
