TV/Radio: CSNBA, TNT/680
THINGS TO WATCH
1. Perfect 10: The Warriors will be looking to open the season with 10 straight wins, something that has been accomplished by only 13 teams in NBA history. Of the previous 13, three won the title and three failed to make the conference finals.
2. Centers of attention: No. 1 overall pick Karl-Anthony Towns has burst onto the NBA scene as a rookie, averaging 16 points, 10.4 rebounds and three blocked shots. Warriors center Andrew Bogut averaged 8.1 points, 8.3 rebounds and 0.7 of a blocked shot in his first seven games after being selected No. 1 overall by Milwaukee in 2005.
3. Hour of knee: Minnesota point guard Ricky Rubio (left knee) and shooting guard Andrew Wiggins (right knee) sat out Monday’s loss to Charlotte. The guards, both listed as questionable for Thursday’s game, have combined to average 32.8 points, 10.7 assists and 2.8 steals per game.
4. No one’s home: Minnesota has lost this season’s first three home games and has dropped 11 straight at the Target Center, dating to last season. The Warriors have won seven straight in Minneapolis and 12 of their past 13 games there.
5. Better late than ever: The Timberwolves lead the league in field-goal defense in the final five minutes of the fourth quarter and overtime, limiting opponents to 20.6 percent shooting — including 1-for-27 from threepoint range.
