Robert Neil Toscher

Mr. Robert Neil Toscher, 71, of Shallotte, NC, died unexpectedly on November 6, 2015 at his home. He had recently relocated to Shallotte Point from Chapel Hill, NC, upon his wife’s retirement from the University of North Carolina.

Mr. Toscher was born in New York City, New York on November 28, 1943 and was the son of the late Jack and Fay Goldman Toscher. He spent many years as a custom homebuilder in Northern California before moving to North Carolina.

Mr. Toscher was a loving husband and a wonderful father. He was a kind-hearted person and especially loved animals, the ocean, and all of nature. He was a gourmet cook and loved entertaining.

He is survived by his wife, Hope Harkins Toscher; a daughter, Sarah Anouska Toscher of San Diego, CA, and her mother, Marcia E. Toscher of Sebastopol, CA; a brother, Harvey Toscher and wife Peggy of Kingston, NY; and nephews Adam and Aaron Toscher of New York City.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at a later date in Northern California.
