THINGS TO WATCH

Guarding against injuries:

Both the Warriors and Clippers have ailing guards. Warriors shooting guard Klay Thompson (probable) has been sporadically hampered by back stiffness, and backup point guard Shaun Livingston (questionable) missed Tuesday’s game with a left hip flexor strain. L.A. point guard Chris Paul (questionable) has missed the past three games with a strained right groin, and shooting guard J.J. Redick (questionable) has missed the past two with back spasms.

Give it a rest:

The Warriors have played two games — an overtime victory over Brooklyn and a win that went down to the wire against Toronto — since the Clippers last played. By the time the teams meet Thursday night, the Clippers will have had five full days to heal and work on the continuity of their second unit.

Going streaking:

According to numberFire, which uses quantitative analysis to predict sports performance, the Warriors have a 22.58 percent chance of tying the league-best 15-0 start and an 18.55 percent chance of breaking the record. The Clippers (50.90) have the best chance of breaking the streak, followed by Denver (33.25), Chicago (31.09) and the Lakers (17.85).

Numbers don’t lie:

DataScience, a Los Angeles startup company that plugs more than 80 factors into an algorithm to predict how each NBA team can beat another one, broke down the eight meetings between the Warriors and Clippers from May 2013 to November 2015. The findings were that rebound percentage, effective field-goal percentage — which adjusts for three-point shooting — and points off turnovers are the keys to winning. The Warriors lead in all categories: tied for 10th to 25th in rebounding percentage, first to seventh in effective field-goal percentage and fourth to 18th in points off turnovers.

Containing Curry:

Stephen Curry is averaging an NBA-best 33.7 points. The Warriors’ point guard has made at least five three-pointers in three consecutive games overall and is 41-for-69 (59.5 percent) in his past 10 regular-season meetings with the Clippers.
