THINGS TO WATCH

Doing home work: The Warriors are 46-2 (.958) at home since the beginning of last season. The last visiting team to win a regular-season game at Oracle Arena was Chicago, a 113-111 overtime victory Jan. 27.

Turning point: A matchup between Warriors point guard Stephen Curry (2015 MVP) and Chicago point guard Derrick Rose (2011 MVP) would be fascinating, but Bulls head coach Fred Hoiberg says Rose is questionable with a sore left ankle that kept him out of Wednesday’s victory over Phoenix. The showdown between Warriors shooting guard Klay Thompson and Chicago shooting guard Jimmy Butler would be a fine consolation prize.

Something’s gotta give: The Bulls lead the league in defensive field-goal percentage at 40.8, and the Warriors are tops in offensive field-goal percentage at 48.3. Chicago has allowed only one opponent to shoot better than 45.2 percent this season, and the Warriors have already racked up four games of at least 50 percent shooting.

Backup bigs: The second-string centers in this game could start for about two-thirds of the teams in the league. The Warriors’ Festus Ezeli went into Thursday’s game averaging 8.7 points, 5.8 rebounds, 1.2 assists, 0.5 of a steal and 1.7 blocked shots. Chicago’s Joakim Noah is putting up 2.8 points, 8.5 rebounds, 3.8 assists, 0.7 of a steal and 0.7 of a blocked shot per game.

Defending champs: With a win over Chicago, the Warriors would tie the league’s best-ever start by a defending champion. The Boston Celtics opened their 1957-58 title defense with 14 straight wins. The Warriors are the only other champion to start with at least 13 straight wins the following season.
