WHAT TO WATCH FOR

1 San Jose State’s Kenny Potter put together a vintage dual- threat QB line at Nevada last Saturday: He ran for 116 yards on 19 carries and threw for 186 yards and three touchdowns. Potter should be able to exploit a Hawaii defense that gave up six passing TDs in a 42- 14 loss to Fresno State last Saturday.

1 Tyler Ervin needs 275 rushing yards over the final two games to break Deonce Whitaker’s San Jose State season record of 1,577 set in 2000. A big night for Ervin, who’s averaging 130.3 yards per game, would put him in position to break the mark against Boise State.

1 Junior quarterback Ikaika Woolsey, a Salesian HighRichmond grad, has started three games — including the past two — for Hawaii. His season numbers are underwhelming: 52- for- 108, with two touchdown passes and five interceptions. In last Saturday’s loss, Woolsey split time with Wittek, the former starter.
