Nancy Louise Kansora, 78, of Novato, California, passed away peacefully with family by her side on Sunday, November 15, 2015. She was born July 22, 1937 in Boston, Massachuse­tts, the second child of the late Walter F and Ella M Kearns. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph P Kansora as well as her sister Phyllis Kearns.

She is survived by a son, Thomas J Kansora of San Anselmo, CA; a daughter, Mary B Kansora and her husband George Cooper of Fayettevil­le, NC; three grandchild­ren, Eric, Olivia and Alexandra Cooper; brother, Walter F Kearns, Jr; nephew, Walter F. Kearns III (Iskra); niece, Tiffany Aaronson (Rob). She is predecease­d by her sisterin-law, Linda Kearns and her daughter-in-law, Mary Donovan Kansora.

Born in Boston, MA, Nancy moved to San Francisco, CA in the early 1960’s where she met and married her husband, Joe, on January 25, 1964. She worked for the San Francisco Chronicle until her marriage. She then joined with her husband in the operation of the family business at Kansora Hardware. With the birth of her children, she became a devoted wife and mother. Nancy returned to the workforce as a volunteer teacher’s assistant at School of the Epiphany, then as an administra­tive assistant at Archbishop Riordan High School. Eventually, she worked as an administra­tive assistant for the San Francisco Unified School District until her retirement in the 1990’s.

Nancy enjoyed a quiet retirement spending time with the last of her husband’s remaining siblings, the late Edna Kansora. She also enjoyed the holidays with her son and daughter-inlaw Mary, and her family in Chico, CA and traveling east to visit with her daughter and her family in North Carolina.

Friends and family are invited to attend the Vigil Service Friday November 27, 2015 at 7:30pm and the Funeral Mass Saturday November 28, 2015 at 12:30pm ALL at St. Dominic Church, 2390 Bush St, San Francisco. Burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, Colma.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to The Alzheimer’s and Dementia Associatio­n.
