Eva Joan Ceccotti

-

Passed away peacefully at her home in Larkspur on December 5, 2015.

She was born in San Francisco on April 19, 1923, to Eugenio and Gina Frediani. Her father Eugenio died at a young age. When she was 9 years old, her mother married Biagio Scatena who became her “second father.”

Eva was raised in the North Beach area of San Francisco. She graduated from Galileo High School, and soon after graduating from high school she was introduced to her future husband Lee R. Ceccotti by Lee’s sister, Marge (Rosati) Ceccotti. Lee and Eva were married at Saints Peter and Paul Church in San Francisco on April 5, 1942. After the war, Lee and Eva lived in San Francisco eventually moving to Larkspur.

Eva is survived by her beloved husband Lee of over 73 years, and by her son Eugene Ceccotti of San Rafael and her daughter Leanne Ceccotti of Larkspur.

She is also survived by five granddaughters, Gina (Scott) Maas, Caterine Ceccotti, Sophia (Jonah) Simoneaux, Jennifer (Ehren) Halse, and Gabriella Coyne; and five great-grandchildren.

Eva was religious and very committed to her Catholic faith. Eva was devoted to the love of her life, her husband Lee, and ever so proud and grateful of their long and wonderful married life together. She took great pleasure and joy spending as much time as possible with each of her granddaughters. Over the past few years she was under the constant care of a team of extraordinary caregivers. Eva became very fond of her caregivers and loved them for all they did for her.

A rosary will be held on Friday December 18, 2015, at St. Patrick’s Church in Larkspur at 7:30 PM. The funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Patrick’s Church on Saturday December 19, 2015, at 10 AM. Immediately following the Mass there will be a private family interment at the Italian Cemetery in Colma (Per Eva’s wishes no reception is planned).
