Anthony ( Tony) Ernu Cone

Tony Cone died suddenly on February 3, 2016, from a heart attack. He was 67 years old.

Tony was born May 19, 1948 and raised in Berkeley by his parents Wayne and Theresa and attended Berkeley High School.

After high school, Tony started working in constructi­on, and became a carpenter and a contractor. He took college classes parttime, eventually graduating from San Francisco State University with a degree in Urban Studies. In 1974 he embarked on a career in investment banking, beginning at Bank of America and later Bear Stearns as well as Dean Witter. In 1991, he became a partner at Westhoff, Cone & Holmstedt, a public finance investment banking firm in Walnut Creek where he specialize­d in financing waste and environmen­tal facilities. He married Sharon Simburg and together had one child, Stephanie. He later married Annette Ospital and had two children, Andre and Annick. Then, in 1998 he met Wendy Rader and started a long and loving relationsh­ip. The two of them lived together in Alamo, California.

Tony had an incredible zest for life and a remarkable amount of wisdom that he passionate­ly shared with those around him. He adored the theatre, live music at Yoshi’s, flowers, car shows, and eating fantastic meals at Prima Ristorante. He loved sharing these activities with his loved ones and colleagues. His charisma and ability to connect with all will truly be missed.

Tony will continue to live on through his lovely Wendy, his three children, Stephanie Cone, Andre Ospital- Cone and Annick Ospital- Cone; as well as his younger brother, Richard Cone.

A Celebratio­n of Life will be held on Saturday, February 13, 2016 1: 00 p. m. at: The Claremont Hotel 41 Tunnel Road Berkeley, California In lieu of flowers, Tony’s family asks that you make a donation to the charity of your choice.
