Day leads Palmer by 2

Jason Day made it look easy Friday at the Arnold Palmer Invitation­al in Orlando with a 7- underpar 65. Henrik Stenson and Justin Rose had to work hard to stay in the game.

Day made two long birdie putts and stretched his lead to five shots when he finished his round at Bay Hill in the morning. Stenson was eight shots behind when he started his second round and shot 66 to close to two shots back. Rose had a 66 and was three behind.

“I felt like I couldn’t do anything wrong out there,” say Day, who was at 13- under 131.

Rory McIlroy, who opened with a 75, made the cut with a 67, though he was 11 shots back. Also making the cut was Stanford junior Maverick McNealy, who was at 4- under 140 after a 71. LPGA Tour: U. S. Women’s Amateur champion Hannah O’Sullivan, 17, shot an 8- under 64 to make the weekend cut at the JTBC Founders Cup in Phoenix. She was tied for 17th with a 136 total, seven strokes behind leader Sei Young Kim

1 Se Ri Pak, 38, a Hall of Famer with five major wins and 25 overall LPGA victories, said she will retire at season’s end. Champions Tour: Woody Austin had six birdies in a seven- hole stretch and shot a 7- under 65 to take the first- round lead at the Tucson Conquistad­ores Classic. European Tour: Australian Terry Pilkadaris shot 8- under 64 for a threeshot lead at the Indian Open in New Delhi.
