Crash fatal to Ravens cornerback

-

Baltimore Ravens cornerback Tray Walker died Friday of injuries suffered in a dirt bike crash in Miami.

Walker, 23, played one season in the NFL. The Ravens say his godmother confirmed “that he had passed.”

Miami- Dade police say Walker was riding a Honda dirt bike with no lights and wearing dark clothing when he collided with a Ford Escape on Thursday night. He was taken to Jackson Memorial Hospital in critical condition.

“Tray was a young man who was full of energy and promise,” Ravens quarterback Joe Flacco said. “This is very hard to wrap my head around. As a parent, I cannot imagine what his family is going through right now. All of my thoughts are with them. My hope is that we can be a little bit of help by being a second family for them.”

A fourth- round 2015 draft pick out of Texas Southern, Walker played in eight games last season, mostly on special teams.

“Tray was a good young man with a good and kind heart,” Ravens coach John Harbaugh said. “He was humble and loved everything about being part of the Ravens’ team. He loved his teammates, the practice and the preparation, and that showed every day. He was coachable, did his most to improve and worked to become the best. I’ll never forget that smile.”

The Indianapolis Colts signed former San Diego Chargers running back Jordan Todman.

The New England Patriots signed three free agents — running back Donald Brown ( most recently with the Chargers), defensive end Chris Long ( Rams) and linebacker Shea McClellin ( Chicago Bears).

The Minnesota Vikings signed offensive tackle Andre Smith, formerly of the Cincinnati Bengals, and re- signed defensive back Terence Newman and defensive lineman Justin Trattou.

The Buffalo Bills signed safety Robert Blanton, who spent the past four seasons with the Vikings.
