First Friday Artwalk: Gather your artsy self and your artsy friends for this free, self-guided walking tour of Woodland’s historic downtown district from 6 to 9 p.m. on the first Friday of the month, February through December. Art galleries, cultural businesses, restaurants and shops host artists and musicians, with exhibitions on display, too. Taste Yolo’s 15-plus heirloom and hybrid tomato varieties, vote for the best restaurant salsa, and watch a tomato-theme Iron Chef-style cooking competition featuring local chefs. And you know you want to meet the official mascot, Tommy Tomato, live and in the fruit flesh. www.woodlandtomatofestival.com First Sunday Food Truck Mania: On the first Sunday of each month, the First Street to Third Street stretch of Main Street in downtown Woodland welcomes some 2,000 hungry guests converging to sample mobile feasts from purveyors such as Drewski’s Hot Rod Kitchen, Krush Burger, Bacon Mania and Squeeze Inn. From 4 to 8 p.m., the road rocks with live music, and diners enjoy fare including deep-fried-baconwrapped mac ’n’ cheese balls, Korean braised beef and kimchee grilled sandwiches, and burgers with crispy grill-fried cheese. www.sactomofo.com
