‘Ain’t No Rest’ for Cage the Elephant

- — Frances Saux

Cage the Elephant has come a long way since its humble beginnings in Bowling Green, Ky., a decade ago. After its 2008 single “There Ain’t No Rest for the Wicked” went platinum, the band created four successful albums, including the 2013 Grammy-nominated “Melophobia.” All the while, Cage the Elephant has toured widely, with a Bay Area appearance last year at Napa’s BottleRock music festival.

Barely six months after its latest release, “Tell Me I’m Pretty” in December 2015, which the band produced with Black Keys vocalist and guitarist Dan Auerbach, Cage the Elephant travels to San Francisco for a concert at the Bill Graham Civic Auditorium.

Also on the bill is Alaska rock band Portugal the Man.

Cage the Elephant, Portugal the Man: 7 p.m. Thursday, June 23. $74-$128. Bill Graham Civic Auditorium, 99 Grove St., S.F. (415) 624-8900. www.billgrahamcivicauditorium.com
