Birdy to take flight at the Fillmore

- — Frances Saux

Barely a month has passed since Birdy turned 20, but the British singer-songwriter already has a substantial career under her belt. Quietly prolific, Birdy (born Jasmine van den Bogaerde) began writing songs at the age of 8 and signed a record deal at 12 years old.

Birdy’s tracks have appeared in feature films “The Hunger Games” and “The Fault in Our Stars,” and she has released three albums, including the most recent “Beautiful Lies” earlier this year.

She has performed in Europe, the United States and Asia, usually with a piano or guitar, and returns to the states for a stop at the Fillmore on Sunday, June 26. The artist is currently on tour with Lawrence Taylor, another young British success, best known for his 2015 song “Bang Bang.”

Birdy with Lawrence Taylor: 8 p.m. Sunday, June 26. $25. The Fillmore, 1805 Geary Blvd, S.F. (800) 745-3000. http:// thefillmore.com
