On the first anniversary of the death of our beloved son David, his parents Steve and Margót, sisters Jennifer and Ursula and brother Barry wish to express our gratitude to those very many people who supported us in our sorrow and throughout the past sad year.

We deeply appreciate the kindness of those who sent messages of sympathy, those who donated to Galway Hospice and to Southern Exposure and to those who sent letters expressing their deep sense of loss. We are forever mindful of the dedication of his many wonderful friends in San Francisco, both throughout his years there and more particularly throughout his illness. Above all, we are indebted to his very dear friends Hugh Cotter & Susan Coghlan and their two daughters, Caitlin (David’s Godchild) and Emma, to Jamie Doyle and Wendy Marlatt, Walter Gorman and David Maxim, Eva Bovenzi and John Neumann. Many thanks also to all his dear friends and colleagues at Studios, Oculus Architects and Southern Exposure. We were truly honoured when Southern Exposure hosted a Memorial Celebration in David’s honour last October. A sincere thanks to Sandra Hesla and Kathryna Leshay who cared for David’s beloved dog E.G. and sent her safely home to us in Ireland. We are sincerely grateful for the care and concern shown by Dr. Tavakoli and the palliative care staff from Kaiser Permanente, particularly Nurse Mary Colette and Aya Okumura. Their tender solicitude will forever be remembered.
