Best Fake Friends: This dark comedy by Paul Kampf could easily be labeled “Mean Moms.” It stars Lauren Bowles as a housewife who just moved into a wealthy suburb. If this weren’t fiction, the neighbors could probably try out for “The Real Housewives.” The Dressmaker: Kate Winslet is being hyped for an Oscar nomination in this dramedy for her role as a woman who returns home to take care of her ailing mother and get a little revenge on her peers as well. Goat: Nick Jonas and James Franco star in this film about fraternity hazing. The trailer isn’t pretty. Kampai! For the Love of Sake: Sake experts make their case for the drink of Japan in this documentary. The Magnificent Seven: Denzel Washington reunites with “Training Day” director Antoine Fuqua in this remake of the 1960 movie directed by John Sturges and written by Akira Kurosawa, which was based on Kurosawa’s 1954 “Seven Samurai.” The 2016 edition also stars Chris Pratt and Ethan Hawke. Operation Avalanche: Director Matt Johnson plays Matt Johnson in this mockumentary about undercover CIA agents pretending to film a documentary at NASA. And they discover that the moon ... we’re not telling. Queen of Katwe: Based on a true story, this film directed by Mira Nair tells the story of a young Ugandan girl who becomes a chess champion. Stars David Oyelowo, Lupita Nyong’o and Madina Nalwanga as the prodigy. Storks: Where do babies come from? Well, it’s true that the storks brought us — at least in this animation film voiced by a who’s who cast. Some of the names: Andy Samberg, Jennifer Aniston, the guys of “Key and Peele” and Kelsey Grammer. Tanna: Members of the Yakel tribe in the rain forests of Tanna and Vanuatu enact a story of loyalty and forbidden love.
