San Francisco police officer Stuart Molver, passed away suddenly on Sunday, January 8th 2017, while on duty at SFO.

Stuart was born on October 24, 1963 in San Francisco to Ken & Shirley Molver of Colma, CA. He graduated from Westmoor high school in Daly City & was a true San Francisco native.

Stuart began playing bagpipes & drums around the age of twelve & continued to play throughout his life. He joined the Army after high school & served his country for 14 years. He was a combat helicopter flight medic & participat­ed in the liberation of Kuwait during the first Gulf War. His Dustoff service was very dear to him & he never failed to strike up a conversati­on with another veteran & thank them for their service.

Stuart became a police officer in 1993 & served at the SFO airport with SFPD. He had vast historical knowledge of the airport & expertise on nearly everything & everyone at SFO. He absolutely loved being in law enforcemen­t & was the recipient of SFPD’s highest honor; the gold Medal of Honor, as well as the Lifesaving Award for his brave lifesaving efforts during the Asiana airline crash.

Stuart met & married gailanne Schneider in southern Utah in September 1996. They made their home near Modesto, CA. Their special interests included participat­ing together in single-action “cowboy shooting” & canine agility competitio­ns. Stuart & gailanne were currently deeply involved in building their retirement homestead on acreage at Lake Chelan, WA.

Stuart was preceded in death by his parents, Ken & Shirley Molver. He is survived by his wife of twenty years, gailanne & their beloved dogs. Stuart’s big brother Scott Molver, twin brother Brian (Pam), sister Suzanne (Don) & nephew Casey.

Friends are invited to attend a Memorial Celebratio­n, Wednesday, January 18th, 2017 at 1:00pm at Grace Cathedral, 1100 California St., San Francisco. A reception will follow. Donations to St Andrew’s Episcopal Church, PO BOX 1226, Chelan, WA 98816 preferred.
