Willie Mae Lowe

Willie Mae Lowe was born in Cedar Lake, Texas to her parents Polk D. and Rosa Bell Williams. The family moved to Houston, Texas where she attended Douglas Elementary School and later Jack Yates High School. After her high school graduation, she met and married Edmond A. Lowe on August 21, 1939. From this union was born four sons; Edmond Jr., Ronald, Richard and Eric, and two daughters, Rosalie and Carolyn. Willie Mae was a devoted wife, mother and grandmothe­r. She loved the Lord and was baptized when she was a young child. She was a member of New Providence Baptist Church where she served as a Deaconess.

Willie Mae leaves her children to mourn her: Rosalie Lowe-Ricard (Joseph Ricard), Carolyn LoweGarric­k, Ronald Lowe, Eric Lowe (Kimberly). She was also a loving grandmothe­r, great grandmothe­r and great-great grandmothe­r.

Willie Mae was preceded in death by her parents Polk and Rosa Bell Williams, brothers, Polk, Roy and Rogers, her loving husband of 71 years, Edmond Lowe Sr., sons, Edmond Lowe Jr. and Richard Lowe, grandchild­ren, Donald Herman and Kimberly Sullivan.

Willie Mae went home to be with the Lord peacefully in her sleep. She will truly be missed and remembered for her sweet, loving and kind personalit­y.

Friends may visit Tuesday, April 4th, 2017, from 10am to 10:50am, followed by Mrs. Willie Mae Lowe’s Life Celebratio­n Service 11am (ALL) at New Providence Baptist Church, 218 Granada Ave, San Francisco, burial to follow at Cypress Lawn Memorial Park, Colma.
