HOW TO GET THERE

Coastal route: From San Francisco, take Interstate 280 south to Daly City and the exit on the right for Highway 1/Pacifica. Bear right at that exit on Highway 1 and continue south for 19 miles (through Pacifica, the tunnel, Devil’s Slide and Princeton) to Half Moon Bay. At Half Moon Bay, continue south on Highway 1 for 55 miles (in Santa Cruz, it requires a left turn to stay on Highway 1) to Exit 435 (8 miles past Santa Cruz) for State Park Drive toward Aptos. Take that exit 0.3 of a mile to State Park Drive. Turn right and drive 0.5 of a mile (it curves) to the park entrance. Inland route: On the Peninsula, take I-280 south to Cupertino and the exit for Highway 85 south. Take Highway 85 south and drive 7.7 miles to the exit for Highway 17 south. Take Highway 17 south 21.5 miles to the coast and Highway 1. Take Highway 1 south (signed for Watsonvill­e/Monterey), go 0.7 of a mile, merge with Highway 1 and drive 5.7 miles to State Park Drive (toward Aptos). Take that exit 0.3 of a mile to State Park Drive. Turn right and drive 0.5 of a mile (it curves) to the park entrance. Distances: 8 miles from downtown Santa Cruz, 28 miles from Los Gatos, 38 miles from downtown San Jose, 56 miles from Half Moon Bay, 60 miles from San Mateo, 65 miles from Dublin, 85 miles (coastal route) from downtown San Francisco, 88 miles from Sausalito.
