Stoppage-time strike gives Earthquakes draw
Jahmir Hyka scored in the fourth minute of second-half stoppage time and the San Jose Earthquakes tied FC Dallas 1-1 on Friday night.
It’s the second straight 90th-minute, game-tying goal for San Jose (2-2-2), which is undefeated at home. Dallas (3-0-2) is unbeaten in the last eight series meetings.
Kellyn Acosta scored his second goal of the season in the 78th minute to give FC Dallas a 1-0 lead.
Hyka tied it in the final seconds. Chris Wondolowski’s header was misplayed by a player from each team, and Hyka ran to it, headed it forward and one-touched it home.
In other MLS news: Fredy Montero scored twice to help host Vancouver beat Seattle 2-1.
Jack Harrison and David Villa scored as New York City FC beat host Philadelphia 2-0.
Colorado goalkeeper Tim Howard has been suspended for three games and fined an undisclosed amount for profane language directed toward a fan during a game against Sporting Kansas City and an altercation with a fan following the match Sunday.
German bus attack:
Marc Bartra, who was wounded in an attack on the team bus of German soccer club Borussia Dortmund underwent surgery following injuries to his wrist and arm after three explosions shattered a window of the bus ahead of Tuesday’s scheduled Champions League quarterfinal against Monaco in Dortmund.
“The pain, the panic and the uncertainty of not knowing what was going on, or how long it would last ... were the longest and hardest 15 minutes of my life,” Barta wrote on Instagram on Friday.
Dortmund coach Thomas Tuchel said Bartra will be out for about four weeks.
Tuesday’s first-leg match was postponed and rescheduled for Wednesday, with Monaco winning 3-2.
