Quakes get back in the win column

Florian Jungwirth scored a goal and the San Jose Earthquake­s beat Minnesota United 1-0 in Minneapoli­s on Saturday night to snap a six-game winless streak.

Jungwirth tapped in a left-footer from pointblank range after Chris Wondolowsk­i redirected a corner kick from Jahmir Hyka in the 54th minute. It was the second career MLS goal for Jungwirth, a 28-year-old defender acquired Feb. 2.

David Bingham had one save to earn his third shutout of the season for San Jose (3-3-3), which won for the first time since March 11 after starting the season with backto-back victories. Cosmos 1, Deltas 0: Emmanuel Ledesma scored in the 69th minute on a perfectly placed loft over San Francisco goalie Romuald Peiser from the left side to the far post to give the New York Cosmos a 1-0 win in an NASL game at Kezar Stadium. MLS highlights: FC Dallas rallied twice to tie the visiting Portland Timbers 2-2 in a battle of the top two teams in the Western Conference. Portland (5-2-2) stayed two points ahead of Dallas (4-0-3), the league’s only unbeaten team . ... The host Seattle Sounders erased a 3-0 deficit, tying the game in the 74th minute for a 3-3 draw with the New England Revolution. ... Carlos Rivas and Kaka scored second-half goals and Eastern Conference­leading Orlando City beat the visiting Colorado Rapids 2-0. Germany: Robert Lewandowsk­i scored twice as Bayern Munich clinched a record fifth straight Bundesliga title with a 6-0 rout of Wolfsburg. Spain: Barcelona and Real Madrid won to maintain their tie at the top of the Spanish league.

Luis Suarez scored twice and Lionel Messi set up another goal to give Barcelona a 3-0 victory at crosstown rival Espanyol, while Real Madrid needed a late strike by Marcelo after Cristiano Ronaldo had missed a penalty to secure a 2-1 win over Valencia at home. France: Monaco warmed up for its Champions League semifinal against Juventus with a 3-1 win over Toulouse to move three points clear of Paris Saint-Germain at the top of the French league. England: Sunderland’s 1-0 loss to Bournemout­h ensured its relegation to the second tier, meaning it is leaving the Premier League after a decade.
