Eugenia (Gena) died peacefully at home after a year long battle with brain cancer.

Gena is survived by her loving husband of 42 years Frank Romeo. Her parents, Thomas and Jean Kelly, preceded her in death. Gena also joins her beautiful son Albert (Albie) Romeo into the next life, eternal with God.

Through her many battles in life, Gena always maintained a strong faith in God and was sent an angel and friend, Alejandra (Alee) Mejia, to help her fight against Glioblastoma.

She is survived by her sister and brother-in-law Barbara and Harlan Jackson, brother Tom Kelly, brotherin-law Charlie, sister-in-laws Caroline and Connie Romeo. Aunt to Joey & Linda Romeo, John Kelly, Lisa & Kelly Jackson, Charlene, Christopher & Christina Romeo, and great aunt to Jessica, Sarah and Brianna Romeo. She is also survived by several loving aunts and cousins.

Gena was born in San Francisco, graduated from El Camino High school, and went on to study at College of Notre Dame de Namur in Belmont.

In 1996, Frank and Gena purchased 43 acres in Napa for which she often said how, “I fell in love with the beauty of the land.” Not having any experience in winemaking, she took classes for viniculture at U.C. Davis and found a special passion she dedicated herself to. In 2008, they purchased an old carriage house in Calistoga built in 1875, fitting for Gena’s love for and extensive knowledge on art and history. After remodeling, they opened “Romeo Vineyards” tasting room. Gena had many happy moments working in the tasting room and sharing her love of making award-winning wines under the label Sempre Vive.
