Passed away suddenly on April 27, 2017, due to complicati­ons from his recent surgery. He was preceded in death by his mother Ann Lynch. Jason will be forever remembered by his devoted wife Monica, loving children Sean and Ava and beloved father Joseph (Carol). He will be deeply missed by his sister Kerry Kelleher (Billy), sisters-in-law Cathy Dwyer (Gene) and Teri Dorgan (Dermot), brother-in-law Mike McVeigh (Ailish), aunts, uncles, and many adoring nieces and nephews.

Jason was born September 27, 1969 in San Francisco. He attended St. Brendan’s (‘83) and Saint Ignatius (‘87). He graduated from California State University, Chico with a degree in Criminal Justice.

Jason was a natural athlete on the field and as a coach. He played multiple sports as a Bear, a Wildcat, and finally finding his passion in rugby as a member of the Chico Rugby Team and Golden Gate Rugby Club. He was a life-long San Francisco Giants, Warriors and 49er fan.

Jason began his career in law enforcemen­t in the San Francisco Sheriff’s Department in 1992 and entered the San Francisco Police Department in 1995. He served with distinctio­n in many roles as he was promoted through the ranks.

Jason was a gentle giant and a true friend to many. He loved his trips to Arnold with his family and friends. He was a great host, warmly welcoming many to his home.

Friends may visit Wednesday, May 3, 2017, from 6-7pm at St. Gregory Church, Vigil Service at 7pm. A Funeral Mass will be Thursday, St. Gregory Church 10:30 am, 2715 Hacienda Street, San Mateo 94403. In lieu of flowers please donate to St. Gregory School, 2701 Hacienda St., San Mateo, CA 94403.
