Emails show UC president’s office manipulated state audit of its services
As part of a state audit of the University of California President Janet Napolitano’s office, campuses were given confidential surveys to assess the quality of services from the central office. The auditor tossed out the surveys after determining that Napolitano’s office improperly manipulated several survey answers. Here are emails from Bernie Jones, Napolitano’s deputy chief of staff, and from UC Santa Cruz Chancellor George Blumenthal that show how it was done.
