Target is testing a program that lets customers order household essentials like laundry detergent, paper towels and peanut butter and have them delivered to their homes the next day. The move is designed to help the retailer better compete with Walmart and Amazon. Target Restock, announced on the company’s blog this week, is limited for now to employees at the company’s headquarters in Minneapolis, where the service will expand to shoppers in its loyalty program this summer. They will be able to order up to 45 pounds of goods to be delivered for “a low flat fee.” Expansion will depend on on performance, Target said.
