FRIDAY

Naomi Watts stars as a shrink who gets a little too involved with her patients in the Netflix drama

“Gypsy,” whose first season is available today. I watched five episodes, but it was a struggle. Watts is very good, but the show moves slowly and has a kind of detached sterility about it.

Also available from Netflix, the special “Little Witch Academia.” Amazon’s streaming offerings include the complete second season of “All or Nothing: A Season With the Arizona Cardinals,” and the complete first season of “Danger and Eggs.” Season three of “Killjoys” launches on the SyFy channel at 8 p.m., and season seven of “Masters of Illusion” begins at the same time on the CW.

Special in the USA,” at 5 p.m. from the Long Beach Convention Center. AXS will air the second night, a four-hour special, at 5 p.m. July 7. “Doubt” returns from hiatus at 8 p.m. on CBS. The show has been axed, and the network will begin airing the remaining 11 episodes of the show tonight. The show stars Katherine Heigl.

The “Doctor Who” season wraps at a special time, 8:30 p.m., with a 90-minute episode on BBC America. Animal Planet offers the specials “Raised Human — Zamba the Lion” at 9 p.m, and “Raised Human — Boris the Chimp” at 10. The 11th season of “The Incredible Dr. Pol” launches on the National Geographic Wild Channel at 9 p.m.

SUNDAY

The new docuseries “America in Color” airs on the Smithsonian Channel at 8 p.m. It will be followed by the premiere of “First Ladies Revealed” at 9 p.m. Note, Comcast does not carry the Smithsonian Channel, but it is available on other service platforms. Season three of “The Good Witch” flies away at 9 p.m. on the Hallmark Channel.

TV NEWS

Congratulations to AMC. “Better Call Saul” has been renewed for a fourth season. Josh Charles has signed on to the new twig in the “Law & Order” franchise, “Law & Order True Crime: The Menendez Brothers.”

Netflix has canceled “Girlboss” after one limp season. The show was based on the memoir by Sophia Amoruso, who built a business in San Francisco selling vintage clothes on eBay and then founded Nasty Gal fashions, which then went bankrupt. The show started out bankrupt.
