Paul “Dusty” Mrozinski

June 29, 1958 - June 17, 2017

-

Paul F. (Dusty) Mrozinski died at home in Oakland on Saturday, June 17, 2017, after a long battle with health issues. He would have been 59 this year.

He is preceded in death by his parents and grandparents in Chicago. Still, he is survived by many good friends who loved him dearly, including his neighbor Rick, and Cory Stephens, his thirty-year long best friend, advocate, and love of his life (and vice versa) and her Danielson / Vadnais families that informally adopted him. There is no service planned yet but we will do something a bit later.

Paul attended Laney College and worked as a security guard as long as he could. He was a friend to anyone who was kind to kids and animals and would stand still long enough to talk. He loved to tell stories, and his greatest joy was making people laugh with both silliness and sophisticated humor. He was so kind, and sensitive, and tremendously generous. He loved good food, too. His many amazing qualities were all the more remarkable to those of us who knew the incredible tragedies he had to live through and the incredible health battles that he had to deal with. He was however a strong and stubborn man who was simply heroic in his persistence and resilience through it all. He gave so much love and support to so many of us, the world is a much smaller place without him. He appreciated the services of everyone in the Bay area who helped him, most recently the Centerville Presbyterian Church in Fremont, so his spirit will appreciate any contributions to them or to the local food banks.
