Mildred Brown Wenzell

Mildred “Millie”Brown Wenzell was born in San Francisco on January 23, 1919, to Marion Aldrich Brown and Walter Mansfield Brown. She passed away peacefully on June 10, 2017 at Eisenhower Medical Center in Rancho Mirage, California. She attended Sarah Dix Hamlin, Katherine Delmar Burke schools prior to Stanford University. She went on to further her studies at Rudolph Schaeffer School of Design in San Francisco, and Chouinard Art Institute of Design in Los Angeles. During WWII she was employed in the engineerin­g department of Lockheed Aircraft and Bechtel Ship Building where the Victory and Liberty ships were built. She spent most of her time on the family farm in the Sacramento Delta where she dearly loved her farming experience and connection­s.

Millie was married and divorced from her first husband, Robert M. Millhauser who together raised their four children: Deborah Lewis, Cynthia Acker, Christina Wallum and Daphne Blackmer. She remarried Albert B. Wenzell in 1990. She was predecease­d by her half-brother Walter Mansfield Brown, Jr. She leaves behind nine grandchild­ren and six greatgrand­children.

She was one of the founding members of Crystal Springs Uplands School in Hillsborou­gh, California, a long-time member of the Burlingame Country Club, a past president of the Hillsborou­gh Garden Club and member of the Cabalgatas horse riding club.
