A 23-year-old Florida deputy wrote on social media about “almost” shooting someone, then followed it with “lol.” The Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office said Austen Callus admitted to putting the post on Snapchat on Sunday. He was fired four days later.

An R2-D2 droid from “Star Wars” films was sold at auction for $2.76 million. Auction house Profiles in History said the 43-inch unit was compiled from parts used in filming the original trilogy.

A Long Island woman is suing Manhattan restaurant Johnny

Utah’s after tearing a knee ligament, claiming she was too drunk to ride its mechanical bull. The restaurant’s website says patrons need to sign a waiver to ride the bull. Here’s a surprise: She doesn’t recall signing one.

A Minnesota woman was charged with second-degree manslaught­er after she allegedly shot her boyfriend in a failed YouTube stunt. According to the criminal complaint, 19-year-old Monalisa Perez told investigat­ors that Pedro Ruiz III wanted to make a video of her shooting a bullet into a book that he was holding against his chest. You can guess the rest.

Miyake’s famed black mock turtleneck. Bloomberg Businesswe­ek reported that Miyake’s company soon will release a tweaked version of the turtleneck, which will sell for $270. It’s called the SemiDull T.
