Rebecca Louise Porteous (Becky Sanders) passed away on the first day of Fall September 22, 2017. at the age of 53. She was home surrounded by family and loved ones.

She fought a courageous battle against ovarian cancer for five years, all the while teaching us to live life fully, and love one another. She made us laugh. Her most important love was her two boys, and she was always active in their classrooms.

A graduate of Analy and U.C Berkeley with a degree in landscape architectu­re, she worked hard to restore, preserve, and conserve our natural resources.

A world traveler with a passion for dance. She performed the Tango in Argentina, and Paris, and taught Rhythm and Motion at ODC/Dance in San Francisco for over 30 years.

Rebecca is predecease­d by her father William Jay Sanders, and survived by her mother Manuela Silman, Stepfather Tom Silman, sister Julia Sanders, brother Stephen Sanders, and her two sons Zack and Will Porteous, and their father Bruce Porteous.
