Cardinal lose in OT

Kelsey Mitchell scored six of her game-high 37 points in overtime to lead No. 9 Ohio State to a 94-82 victory over No. 14 Stanford on Saturday night in the Play4Kay Shootout in Las Vegas.

Mitchell was named MVP of the event.

Trailing by nine points after three quarters, the Buckeyes (7-1) outscored Stanford 27-18 in the fourth quarter to force overtime, and then went on a 13-0 run in the extra period to seal the win.

Alanna Smith led Stanford (4-3) with 33 points and 16 rebounds. Anna Wilson scored 21. Stanford opened its season with an 85-64 loss at Ohio State.

#23 Missouri 55, #21 Cal 52: Amber Smith and Sophie Cunningham scored 11 points apiece and No. 23 Missouri handed No. 21 Cal a rare loss in the Cal Classic at Haas Pavilion. The Tigers (5-1) won the championsh­ip by making 9 of 18 three-point tries, the biggest by Jordan Chavis with 3:16 to play after the Bears (3-2) had erased an eight-point deficit to tie the game.

More Pac-12 women: Miramonte High-Orinda alum Sabrina Ionescu scored 28 points, one off her career high, as No. 10 Oregon (5-1) beat Oklahoma 92-74 at the women’s PK80 Invitation­al in Eugene. Ionescu had 18 points in the second half and finished with seven rebounds and six assists. Vionise Pierre-Louis led the Sooners (3-2) with 32 points and 13 rebounds . ... Kennedy Burke had 17 points and six rebounds to lead No. 5 UCLA (5-1) to a 72-63 victory over Creighton in the Las Vegas Shootout. ... Lexie Brown scored the host Blue Devils’ last 10 points of the game, finishing with 19, as No. 16 Duke (4-1) beat No. 18 Oregon State (3-2), which was led by Marie Gulich’s 16 points and nine rebounds, 72-65 . ... Freshman Collin Sexton had 40 points for Alabama, but the Tide finished with three players after five were ejected during a near brawl, one fouled out and one went out with an injury. #11 Miami 86, N. Florida 65: Bruce Brown and Anthony Lawrence scored 14 points each for the host Hurricanes (5-0). Sam Houston State 73, Santa Clara 59: Christophe­r Galbreath Jr. had 17 points, nine rebounds and six assists as the Bearkats (3-3) won the seventh-place game of the Great Alaska Shootout in Anchorage. KJ Feagin led the Broncos (1-5).
