Crosby, Kessel help Pens end skid

Pittsburgh’s Sidney Crosby and Phil Kessel each scored twice as the Penguins beat Tampa Bay 5-2 in Pittsburgh on Saturday to end a season-high three-game losing streak.

Tristan Jarry stopped 33 shots for his first NHL win. He also assisted on the first goal of the game.

“We needed that win tonight,” Kessel said. “We needed to find our footing.”

Pittsburgh hasn’t lost four straight in regulation overall since Dec. 14-19, 2015, the first four games of head coach Mike Sullivan’s tenure. The Penguins, playing without injured forward Evgeni Malkin, also ended a two-game home regulation losing streak.

Canadiens 3, Sabres 0: Carey Price, who missed the previous 10 games with a lower-body injury, made 36 saves for his 40th career shutout as host Montreal snapped a five-game losing streak.

Kings 2. Ducks 1: Trevor Lewis scored the decisive goal in the fourth round of the shootout as host Los Angeles ended a three-game skid with its second victory in seven games.

Capitals 4, Maple Leafs 2: Alex Ovechkin had a hat trick, giving him 576 career goals as he moved past Mike Bossy (574) for 21st on the career list and host Washington won.

Blues 6, Wild 3: Jaden Schwartz scored twice as host St. Louis boosted its points total to an NHL-best 35 with its fourth win in five games.

Islanders 2, Senators 1: Jaroslav Halak made 31 saves as visiting New York handed Ottawa its sixth consecutiv­e loss. Matt Duchene scored his first goal with the Senators in his eighth game with the team.

Devils 4, Red Wings 3: Brian Gibbons scored at 2:32 of overtime as visiting New Jersey won despite blowing a two-goal third-period lead. Detroit has lost four in a row.

Blackhawks 4, Panthers 1: Jonathan Toews had a goal and two assists as Chicago beat host Florida, which lost

right wing Evgenii Dadonov to an upper-body injury in the third period. Golden Knights 4, Coyotes 2: Tomas Nosek, William Karlsson and Erik Haula scored in a 1:42 span of the second period as visiting Vegas won its fifth straight game.

Flames 3, Avalanche 2: David Rittich stopped 24 shots for his first NHL victory for visiting Calgary.

Briefly: Winnipeg defenseman Ben Chiarot was fined $3,763 by the NHL after he brought the butt-end of his stick up into the jaw of Anaheim forward Corey Perry on Friday. Perry required stitches . ... Detroit defenseman Trevor Daley underwent an MRI exam Saturday after suffering a neck injury Friday in a game against the Rangers. He is day-to-day.
