Marilyn was born in Kirksville, MO and raised in the Saint Louis, MO suburb of Webster Groves, attending local schools, and later, the University of Missouri in Columbia where she was a member of the Pi Beta Phi Sorority. Eventually she settled in San Mateo with her growing family where she would reside for over fifty years. Later in life she entered the banking industry. It was at this time that she met and married Craig Karasky with whom she enjoyed 38 years of life together. Throughout the years, Marilyn was actively engaged in the ministry of the First Presbyterian Church of Burlingame, CA and in local philanthropic and volunteer pursuits.

Without a doubt, Marilyn’s faith in Jesus and her love of family were her passion. Her outgoing personality, smile and giving heart changed the lives of those around her. She loved well. She loved always.

Marilyn will be truly missed and fondly and often remembered. Family and friends are invited to a celebration of her life on December 1, 2017 10:00a.m. at The First Presbyterian Church of Burlingame’s Chapel, 1500 Easton Avenue, Burlingame, followed by a short reception at the church.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to The First Presbyterian Church of Burlingame’s ‘Prayer Garden Fund,’ to a local chapter of your choosing of the Alzheimer’s Association, or to Mission Hospice (1670 S. Amphlett Blvd., Ste 300, San Mateo, CA 94402) in Marilyn’s name.
