Ingram’s late trey lifts Lakers over 76ers

-

LaVar Ball’s fourth-quarter taunts to Philadelphia fans turned up the volume on an already raucous atmosphere. His son, Lonzo, later helped silence the sold-out crowd.

Brandon Ingram scored 21 points, hitting the game-winning three-pointer with 0.8 of a second remaining on an assist from Lonzo Ball, to lead the Lakers to a 107-104 victory over the 76ers on Thursday night.

Julius Randle and Jordan Clarkson added 16 points apiece for Los Angeles, which snapped a five-game losing streak.

On the winning play, Ball drove to the basket before dishing back to Ingram on the right wing.

“He already saw it before it happened,” LaVar Ball said of his son’s assist.

Ingram drained what he called the biggest shot of his young NBA career.

“I think he made a great pass,” Ingram said. “I had the confidence to shoot it.”

Lonzo Ball finished with 10 points, eight rebounds and eight assists.

The winning basket sent Ball’s dad, LaVar, into a wild celebration in a suite.

“When I come this far of a distance, it’s hard to beat him,” LaVar Ball said. “I don’t like all them losses. So, he’ll do whatever it takes to get that ‘W.’ ”

Joel Embiid scored 33 points and Ben Simmons had a tripledouble with 12 points, 13 rebounds and 15 assists for Philadelphia.

Before the game, Philadelphia agreed to trade center Jahlil Okafor to the Nets.

Okafor, the No. 3 pick in the 2015 draft, was dropped from the rotation this season and has played only two games. The Sixers also will send guard Nik Stauskas and a 2019 second-round pick to the Nets for forward Trevor Booker. Rockets 112, Jazz 101: James Harden scored 29 points and Ryan Anderson added 23 to lead Houston at Utah. Chris Paul added 18 points, 13 assists and nine rebounds for the Rockets. Houston (19-4) won its eighth straight game and for the 14th time in 15 games. The Rockets improved to 8-0 with Paul in the lineup. Nets 100, Thunder 95: Caris Levert scored 19 points, Rondae Hollis-Jefferson added 17 and Brooklyn overcame another strong performance by Russell Westbrook to beat Oklahoma City in the first of the Nets’ two games in Mexico City. Westbrook had 31 points, eight rebounds and six assists. Wizards 109, Suns 99: Bradley Beal scored 34 points to help Washington beat host Phoenix. Two nights after scoring 51 points in a victory at Portland, Beal had 22 points in the first half. Former Suns forward Markieff Morris added 21 points for the Wizards. Pelicans’ Anjica has surgery: New Orleans’ Alexis Ajinca has had surgery on his right knee and his recovery is expected to take at least four months, virtually ending his chances of playing this season. The 7-foot-2 reserve center has been inactive while trying to determine if he could rehabilitate patellar tendinitis without surgery.
