Dinerman, 25, has been the track announcer at Emerald Downs for the past three years in addition to his work at Golden Gate Fields. … A late Pick Five – with a normal 23.68 percent takeout – on the day’s final five races has been added to the wagering menu, along with Super High 5s on every race. The early Pick Five retains the 14 percent takeout. … The stakes schedule for the winter-spring season that ends June 10 has been tweaked slightly. The El Camino Real Derby, which lost its Grade 3 status, had its purse lowered from $200,000 to $100,000. The money went to the Grade 3 San Francisco Mile, which now has a purse of $200,000. The San Francisco Mile was moved from April 28 to March 31 to fit better with the stakes events for grass milers at Santa Anita. The complete schedule: California Derby, Jan. 20; California Oaks, Feb. 10; El Camino Real Derby, Feb. 17; Lost in the Fog Stakes, Feb. 19; Camilla Urso Stakes, March 17; San Francisco Mile, March 31; Campanile Stakes and Silky Sullivan Stakes, April 29; Golden Poppy Stakes, May 12; Alcatraz Stakes, May 20; Grade 3 All American Stakes, May 28; Albany Stakes, June 9. The California Derby, Campanile, Silky Sullivan and All American are $100,000, the Alcatraz is $75,000 and the rest are $50,000-added. … The California Horse Racing Board shifted a week of racing in 2018 from the Sonoma County Fair to the State Fair. Now the State Fair will have racing all three weeks in conjunctio­n with fair events, and Sonoma’s two weeks also will accompany the fair. Elsewhere: Unique Bella will try to rebound from her seventh-place finish in the Breeders’ Cup Filly & Mare Sprint when she runs in the La Brea Stakes. Trained by Jerry Hollendorf­er, Unique Bella had won five straight races decisively prior to the Breeders’ Cup. Also running in the 7-furlong race for 3-year-old fillies are Jeff Bonde-trained Miss Sunset and Princess Karen. Miss Sunset has won six stakes events, and Princess Karen finished fifth in the Breeders’ Cup Filly & Mare Sprint. … Other stakes on Santa Anita’s opening day of its winter-spring season are the Grade 2, $300,000 San Antonio featuring Breeders’ Cup Classic runner-up Colonist, the Grade 2, $200,000 Mathis Brothers Mile with Hollendorf­er-trained Colonist and the Grade 1, $300,000 Malibu.
