Mark W. Hendrix died November 13th, 2017 in Berkeley, California, from complicati­ons of pancreatic cancer. He was 56.

Mark was born in Baltimore, Maryland to Thomas R. Hendrix and Sonia A. Hendrix. He graduated from UCLA in 1983 and the Hastings School of Law in 2013. Mark was a writer, political activist, and exhibiting visual artist in Los Angeles and for the last 23 years in the Bay area.

Mark never lost his love of art, music, and performanc­e, reading and exhibiting his own work at various Bay area venues, performing in local theatre. He worked as a counselor, trainer, and educator for a variety of groups that serve the disability community. Most importantl­y, Mark was a fierce advocate, a staunch and loyal friend, and a beloved brother with an impish smile and a wry sense of humor.

Mark is survived by his sisters, Carla and Ingrid Hendrix, his brothers and sisters-in-law Eric and Jeanne Hendrix, and Paul and Jules Hendrix. The family would like to thank his kind and remarkable caregivers for their many years of dedicated and loving assistance.
