Vegas hits jackpot — 3-goal flurry at end

-

Jonathan Marchessault scored the go-ahead goal and added an assist as the Vegas Golden Knights scored three times in the final two minutes Tuesday night for a 4-2 victory at Calgary.

Just 10 seconds after Erik Haula tied it 2-2 at 18:14 of the third period, Marchessault got around Mark Giordano and beat Calgary goalie Mike Smith over his glove.

David Perron scored into an empty net and Reilly Smith also had a goal for Western Conference-leading Vegas (33-12-4) in the opener of a six-game road trip.

Matthew Tkachuk got his seventh goal in the past eight games for the Flames (25-17-8), who lost in regulation for the first time in 12 games.

The tying goal was a weird one. Calgary forward Michael Frolik got the puck in his own end and ended up firing it toward a surprised Smith. He stopped it with his pad but Haula put in the rebound, stunning the crowd.

Canucks 4, Avalanche 3: Sven Baertschi scored at 1:07 of overtime for host Vancouver. The winger took a feed in the extra period and ripped his 11th of the season high past the glove of Colorado’s Jonathan Bernier. Ducks 3, Bruins 1: Adam Henrique scored twice and visiting Anaheim ended Boston’s 18-game point streak. Jakob Silfverberg also scored for the Ducks, the first team to beat the Bruins in regulation since Dec. 14.

Wild 3, Blue Jackets 2: Zach Parise and Chris Stewart scored in the shootout, and Devan Dubnyk had 28 saves for visiting Minnesota.

Panthers 4, Islanders 1: Harri Sateri stopped 32 shots for his first career win and Florida won in New York. The 28-year-old rookie, who spent the past three seasons in the KHL, was 0-3-0 with a 4.59 goals-against mark.

Hurricanes 2, Senators 1: Sebastian Aho and Victor Rask scored in the third period for host Carolina. Ottawa has lost six consecutive games.

Devils 3, Sabres 1: Taylor Hall scored in his first game after missing three with an injury to his right hand, and New Jersey snapped a four-game skid with a win in Buffalo.
