Trier ruled ineligible, then Arizona wins

Deandre Ayton had 19 points, 12 rebounds and three blocks, and No. 14 Arizona, minus one of its top players, beat host Oregon State 75-65 in overtime Thursday.

The Wildcats (22-6, 12-3 Pac-12) were without guard Allonzo Trier, who was declared ineligible by the NCAA after a trace amount of a banned substance was found during a late-January drug screening.

Ethan Thompson had 20 points for OSU (13-14, 5-10).

#6 Gonzaga 77, San Diego 72: Killian Tillie scored 17 points as the Bulldogs (26-4, 16-1) beat the host Toreros (17-12, 8-9) to clinch a share of the WCC regular-season title. #9 Purdue 93, Illinois 86: Carsen Edwards scored 40 points as the visiting Boilermake­rs (25-5, 14-3 Big Ten) defeated the Illini (13-17, 3-14).

Other Top 25: Gary Clark scored 17 points to lead No. 11 Cincinnati (24-4, 13-2 American) to a 77-52 win over UConn (13-15, 6-9) . ... Jimario Rivers and Raynere Thornton had 21 points apiece and host Memphis (17-11, 8-7 American) picked up a 91-85 win over No. 23 Houston (21-6, 11-4).

Other Pac-12: David Collette scored 21 points as host Utah (18-9, 10-6) won 84-78 over UCLA (19-9, 10-6) . ... Elijah Brown had 19 points to lead host Oregon (18-10, 8-7) to a 75-68 win over Arizona State (19-8, 7-8).

Other biggest erasing games: a comeback 34-point Host first-half in Drexel Division posted deficit I history, the to beat Delaware 85-83. Drexel’s Tramaine Isabell (34 points) hit two free throws with 2.2 seconds left to settle matters. The previous biggest comeback had been Kentucky’s rally from 31 down to beat LSU 99-95 on Feb. 15, 1994 . ... #2 Mississipp­i St. 82, Auburn 61: Teaira McCowan had 16 points and 18 rebounds to lead the host Bulldogs (29-0, 15-0 SEC) past the Tigers (13-14, 4-11).

#4 Lousiville 51, Virginia 39: Asia Durr scored 13 points to pace the host Cardinals (28-2, 14-1 ACC) against the Cavaliers (16-12, 9-6).

#5 Notre Dame 89, Virginia Tech 59: Marina Mabrey had 21 points and 11 rebounds as the host Irish (26-2, 14-1 ACC) beat the Hokies (17-11, 6-9).

Other games: A’ja Wilson had 27 points and 24 rebounds to pace No. 7 South Carolina (23-5, 12-3) to a 57-48 home win over No. 24 LSU (18-8, 10-5) . ... Jordin Canada had 20 points and 11 assists as No. 10 UCLA (22-6, 13-4 Pac-12) earned a 73-67 decision over visiting Colorado (14-14, 5-12) . ... Kristen Simon (16 points, 15 rebounds) hit a three-pointer with 1.3 seconds left in overtime to give host USC (18-10, 8-9 Pac-12) a 53-52 win over Utah (17-11, 8-9).
