Flyers get 5th straight victory
Philadelphia’s Brandon Manning had a goal and two assists and the Flyers topped the host Ottawa Senators 5-3 on Saturday for their fifth consecutive victory.
Ivan Provorov, Robert Hagg, Claude Giroux and Nolan Patrick also scored for the Flyers. Petr Mrazek made 25 saves in his second start since coming over in a trade with Detroit.
It’s been an impressive couple of months for the Flyers, who have gone 25-8-3 since Dec. 3 to move one point behind first-place Washington in the Metropolitan Division.
“I didn’t think it was going to happen,” captain Claude Giroux said. “Everyone bought into what we’re trying to do here and it’s a lot of fun.”
