Unfriendly skies

Regarding “United CEO Munoz gives up his bonus” (Business News Roundup, Business, April 25): So United CEO Oscar Munoz claims he is showing “accountability” for a man being dragged off a United flight last year (due to overbooking) by forgoing his annual bonus, thus reducing his compensation from $18.7 million to $9.6 million?

Munoz, who initially blamed the injured passenger for creating this horrible situation, should have resigned — not taken a pay cut that still left him with a substantial salary. United, which has become notorious for poor customer service, should change its motto to “Fly the unfriendly skies.”
