Susan H. Eres
Susan H. Eres peacefully passed away early in the morning on St. Patrick’s Day, March 17, 2018, in Sacramento, at her enhanced senior care apartment, twelve days before her 73rd birthday of March 29, 1945. Susan fought a courageous two-and-a-half-year battle with Progressive Supranuclear Palsy (PSP), a rare neurological disease.
A native of Sacramento, Susan graduated from Encina High School in 1963, and earned her B.A. Degree from California State University, San Jose. Susan’s post graduate studies include graduating from the Advanced Legal Management Institute at John E. Anderson Graduate School of Management, UCLA, 1986, and LEAD San Diego (Leadership, Education, Awareness & Development). Susan was also a member of the Association of Legal Administrators, National, Silicon Valley and Golden Gate Chapters, as well as the American Association of University Women.
Susan worked as a Paralegal, Law Office Administrator, and Senior Executive Assistant in law offices in Boston, Los Angeles, Santa Barbara, San Diego, and San Francisco, as well as Senior Administrator in a high-tech international investment firm in Menlo Park.
Susan loved to travel and took cruises to Greece, Italy, Croatia, Mexico, and other international destinations. In addition to spending time with her beloved standard poodles, most recently
Sir George and KoKo, she greatly enjoyed reading and gardening, and had a passion and green thumb for growing beautiful flowers. She loved wind chimes and had a fine art collection of original paintings and prints. Susan was an avid member and event organizer for the Zoological Society of San Diego, the Child Abuse Prevention Foundation and the Special Olympics for San Diego County.
Susan was preceded in death by her parents, Helen and William (Bill) Eres, and her brother Peter Eres. She is survived by her brother Thomas W. Eres, dear sister-in-law Jacquelyn L. Eres, and her beloved sister Sally A. Rice-Pierleoni, and brother-in-law Allen Pierleoni. She was the proud and loving aunt to five nieces and two nephews and 19 great nieces and nephews.
A Memorial/Celebration of Life will be held at St. Michaels Episcopal Church, 2140 Mission Ave, Carmichael, CA, 11:00 a.m., April 28, 2018. In lieu of flowers, please make any donations to: Brain Support Network, P.O. Box 7264, Menlo Park, CA 94026.
