Madrigal, Nancherla highlight immigrant rights benefit show
Al Madrigal and Aparna Nancherla are scheduled to perform at the Comedy Night for Immigrant Rights on Saturday, April 28, a fundraiser celebrating the 100th anniversary of the International Institute of the Bay Area.
The nonprofit IIBA provides legal help, education and other services for immigrants, refugees and their families in the Bay Area.
Madrigal is a San Francisco native and former “Daily Show” correspondent who has been at the top of his game as a stand-up comedian, recently releasing the comedy special “Shrimpin’ Ain’t Easy” for Showtime. Nancherla is a rising writer and performer who begins her It’s Me Again tour in August with a Sept. 29 stop in S.F. at the Independent.
The powerhouse lineup also includes Luna Malbroux, a local comic, writer and creator of the award-winning play “How to Be a White Man.”
