Tom Green back in the spotlight

- — Peter Hartlaub

Tom Green’s career path has never been predictable. He became famous as the creator and star of “The Tom Green Show” in the 1990s, which gained quite the following on MTV.

He was a movie star through most of the early 2000s, in the underrated “Road Trip,” along with “Freddy Got Fingered” and “Stealing Harvard.”

Now he’s settled into the role as the experienced traveling comedian, who appears to have mellowed with age — but not too much. His act is still filled with energy, covering everything from Donald Trump to social media. (Green was telling people to get off Facebook a decade ago.)

Green returns to Cobb’s Comedy Club on Friday-Saturday, April 27-28, with four shows over the two nights.
